Bomane Salon Gives Good Hair.

BOMANE Salon. The name sounds French but Bomane’s vibe is more Cali girl meets London boy — thanks to the salon’s (married) co-founders Andrea Jaclyn and Sonny Henty. She’s the quintessential California blonde and he’s a former boxer and fashion model from South London with the accent to prove it.

As a sought after hair extension specialist Andrea first made a name for herself amping up the manes of Beverly Hills beauties like Lisa Vanderpump and Petra Ecclestone. You can still find her on the salon floor doing what she loves — along with 25 other stylists on the BOMANE roster. Her husband and co-founder Sonny went all in to help make Andrea’s dream of owning her own salon a reality, even getting his cosmology license so he would know all aspects of the business.

The salon, open since 2017, is big and bright with lots of natural light. Walking in it feels luxurious and feminine with a decidedly downtown edge.  Vibrant street art and black and white shots of models fill the walls, along with occasional neon signs that say things like ‘You Belong Here’. Every inch of Bomane is photoshoot worthy, which makes sense since the salon’s loyal following includes a who’s who of Instagram ‘It Girls’.

Sonny tells Daily Candid News that their aim with BOMANE was to bring back the spa concept — without the stuffy attitude. And after enjoying a decadent deep moisture treatment and scalp massage followed by a five-star blowout I can say they’ve succeeded. From the minute I walked in I felt comfortable and well cared for. And I left feeling perfectly pampered — and (most important) like I looked my best.

My stylist Gabriel Mendoza was warm and attentive with a personality that immediately put me at ease. I had multiple events to attend over Grammy weekend so my only wish was a blowout that would last…and last. And Gabriel delivered. First, he smoothed my hair using a blowdryer and round brush — and made sure to add extra volume at the roots so it would hold overnight. Then he used a curling iron to create vintage-inspired beach waves. With almost a decade of experience getting models runway-ready during New York Fashion Week it’s no surprise that Gabriel knows how to give great hair.  (Blowout $100)
